Young Chef of the Year 2019
Enter our Instagram competition to win a week’s placement at an award-winning restaurant in Peru.
The Superfoods Peru Young Chef of the Year competition, now in its third year, is searching for the next top young chef in Peruvian cuisine. Entrants must be UK-based students or chefs already working in the industry, and up to the age of 25.
To enter: share one post on Instagram containing images of a three-course meal (an image of each course) using at least two Peruvian superfoods in each dish. Include a title, brief description and the ingredients used for each dish. You must tag @superfoodsperu and use the hashtags #superfoodsperu and #youngchefperu. The entry deadline is 11th February 2019.
The top five finalists will be invited to take part in a cook-off in London and a private masterclass with Michelin-starred chef, Robert Ortiz. The winner will be announced at the cook-off final and the four runner’s up will receive a £100 cash prize.
Here is a list of Peruvian superfoods for inspiration: asparagus, artichoke, chillies, sweet peppers, mango, blueberries, pomegranate, passion fruit, avocado, tangerine, sweet potatoes, quinoa, brazil nut, cacao, chia seeds, camu camu powder, lucuma powder, yacon syrup, amaranth, cassava.
